A cantora norte-americana Katy Perry promove, nesta sexta (26), o lançamento mundial do single e do videoclipe da canção “Watch It Burn”, em todas as plataformas de música, encerrando o suspense e a espera de seus fãs pelo mundo.
Em “Watch It Burn”, Perry traz a consequência de anos de silêncio, de tentar agradar os outros e de uma postura de “amor e luz” e quando isso finalmente chegam ao limite. “Em sua essência, ‘Watch It Burn’ fala sobre permitir-se sentir a raiva de forma genuína, parar de minimizar a dor e deixar que as emoções reprimidas finalmente venham à tona”, explica a divulgação da Universal Music.

A música foi produzida por Justin Tranter (Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa), Jason Gill (Katseye, Zara Larsson), Eren Cannata (Teddy Swims, Demi Lovato) e Daniel Crean (Katseye, Sofia Carson), e escrita por Katy com Tranter, Cannata, Crean, Gill, Amanda “Kiddo” Ibanez e Skyler Stonestreet. “Watch It Burn” combina os vocais marcantes de Katy com uma vulnerabilidade crua e uma catarse explosiva.
Videoclipe
O videoclipe, dirigido por Christian Breslauer (Ariana Grande, SZA, Lizzo), estreou simultaneamente ao lançamento da faixa e já pode ser conferido no canal da cantora no YouTube.
O lançamento também conclui a história que os fãs vêm acompanhando desde o lançamento de “bandaids”, no ano passado. As duas faixas formam, juntas, um arco emocional completo: da primeira parte, ferida, à segunda parte, libertação.
